would I be able to use one ment for a .30cal rifle or am I stuck with the ol patch rod for these?
It's really not that big of a difference from a .308 diameter. The difference between a .308 and .311 bore is roughly the width of a sheet of 20 lb copy paper.
The boresnake will be fine.
thanks for the info, I'll go ahead and get one then.
care to elaborate on the big joke we missed?
The fact that .308 is .30cal. There is no specific .308 boresnake.
would be fine. The boresnake compresses quite a bit and you can use a larger snake in a smaller bore. I've run 40 and 45 cal snakes through a 9mm barrel.
My .22 boresnake wont even budge into my AR
My 22 bore snake(s) work fine in my AR. Do not try a 9mm boresnake. Saw one guy try that once. Not pretty.
never had a problem with the .22 snake through any ar's or 5.45 ak's.
I use a .22 bore snake through .223, .22, and 5.45 barrels no problem. .30 cal bore snake for the 7.62, 308, 30-06 and x54R.
Wait, i thought old russian rifles wern't supposed to be cleaned?
