TECH building a new computer soon. v. gaming/movies

looking to build a new computer within the next month or so, hopefully in time for bf3....last time i built a computer was for the bf2 release...

looking to spend around a grand, i can reuse my old case i suppose and disk drive,and hard drives...might want a ssd for putting the operation system/main games on?


It will be used for gaming and movies, eventually being hooked to my tv to play the movies on....

so im thinking i need
-psu
-mobo
-proc
-video cards
-ram
-ssd?
-sound card? or has on board sound gotten good enough?

whats the new hotness on processors and ram?

SSD is definitely worth it. I have an I5 2500k which is amazing, wasn't worth it to me to upgrade to the I7, at least not for gaming. What is your budget?
