Second day of the build for this AK and only have the flat bent with trunion holes drilled and top rails fitted. Also have the AK kit demilled.

Just ranting for the slow build and wondering if im going NDS route next time.

I have such a deep need to build my own firearm
I really hope that kits are still around in a few months at a reasonable price.

    any GA builders?

copes has hand select for 150 or you can get some okay kits from centerfiresystems for 110. i'm probably going to order 2 from the latter next week. i have 2 more bent receivers i have to build.

Where is a good place for flats? I have a press so I've been thinking about this.

ETA: OK, I see copes has them, pretty cheap, they count as unfinished so I can have them shipped straight to me then right (IE no FFL)?

This is what I went with but with a groupbuy it was $15 for the set.

flat != receiver. once it's bent it's a receiver so you can receive a flat without an ffl

when it is turned into a receiver, while I don't know if it HAS to be numbered, it is probably a damn good idea.

no, they don't have to be serialized unless you're registering them for use as an aow or sbr or something.

it is a good idea, though, as stated.
