Hey guys, got my ears peirced with a 10g hoop / ball thing (forgot the technical name for them) but its been over a month and I'm wanting to change out the jewelry for a plug now. In like another month or so I would like to start looking into stretching them to a 8g....

my questions are as follows:

Where to buy the jewelry? What material is best to use for cleanliness / staying clean? and what are my options for stretching when that time comes around? Are there the cone shapped stretching rings, or which works best?

You can purchase stretching crescents/kits to do it yourself, but it's always advisable if you don't know what you're doing to go and see a piercer.

You don't want to end up getting a blowout or something.

IMO 1 size isn't something to worry about. Take a hot shower after a day of tugging on the current rings, Take the shower and let your ear lobes loosen up, then use some soap as lube and push the new plugs in. It might take some time to get them in. I wouldn't use flared plugs.

Dont use soap as lube.
Dont tug on the rings.

Get a taper (sp?) and do it the right way

stay away from the acrylic crescent bullshit. do not stretch with those.

also, if youd like to make it a little easier to stretch (at least at bigger sizes), rubbing jojoba oil on your lobes every day will help them become more stretchy in addition to making them more healthy.

other than stainless steel what is the next material that makes for a good and cleanable jewelry? and what is jojoba oil and where would one get this?

:werd:

i don't think this is the case for all sizes, but when i went from 10 to 8, it was actually an accident. i went to buy some more 10g just to change styles, and they accidentally gave me 8g and they went right in with absolutely no problem.

all people are different though :dunno:
