Prop 22 is about classifying app drivers as independent contractors versus employees

Which is a direct response to AB5 which would basically put Lyft, Uber, etc. out of business in the state

For nonCalifornians

There's also zero chance this actually settles the issue. It's going to be tied up in court for years either way.
How? AB5 is already a precedent for court rulings

I think they, i.e. Lyft/Uber, already tried to appeal and somewhat failed pending the outcome of this prop

How much do you think it would cost them to have to provide benefits, car maintenance costs, car insurance, etc?

100% voted yes on 22. The reduction in drunk driving alone is worth keeping Uber and Lyft around.
Has anyone studied that since 2017? I thought the results were mixed without definitively declaring one way or the other
