how do i come up with the amount of calories i need to maintain my wieght?
Try it ?
Ideally, you'll want to find your resting metabolic rate (RMR) and then shave 200-300 calories off that, but it's easier said than done. According to formulas I found on the internet, my RMR is ~1250 calories/day, but then I got a hydrostatic body fat test and it revealed that my RMR is actually a little over 1600. Now that's a huge ass difference. Trying to cut at the previous RMR would have been basically impossible. So if you can, get a hydrostatic body fat test. They're cheaper nowadays, and they'll help you plan out a diet no problem.
Also, you have to take physical activity into account. If you're shaving off 300 calories a day at the gym, you don't need to be cutting cals under your RMR.
Here is the one you should use.
Here is the one I would use.
I checked the first one first and then it was way off. I was like "HAY I C WUT HE DID THAR"
2497.5 cal/day for the men's one. Uh, yeah, that's like 900 off Awesome calculator.
DUDE, everybody's different, it's just an estimation. Reality > some calculation. Knowledge is only good if you put it in action.
your calc said i need 2900 calories a day
What I was saying is, estimations are supposed to be close.
