Anyone have or use one of these?
I been thinking about picking up a camelbak for when i go hunting as opposed to carrying a water bottle or a canteen but i can't seem to justify the cost
I found the demon for $110-120, which isn't too bad because I was in the market for a new backpack for hiking, etc anyway. The demon has a lower velcro pocket made for concealing a hand gun and a mag, knife or light.
I'm just curious as to how hard it is to draw out of the pocket.
What are you using this for? Personally, I'd prefer OWB to carrying inside of a backpack.
Hiking, camping, whatever. If I'm out backpacking I'll just OWB holster it because I know no one is going to be around. But hiking, fishing, camping, geocaching etc where I know I'm there is a chance to run into someone, more specifically someone not gun friendly, I'd rather have it concealed. And it looks to me like this pack has it in a decent place for a draw.
I always OC pretty much anywhere in the outdoors. If anyone has any problems with it, fuck 'em.
Well...long and the short of it is, I cannot get a definitive answer on whether or not it is legal to carry in New Mexico national forests, the website doesn't say, and people shoot up in them a lot, but I've heard they are prohibited. So basically if I can keep one concealed, effectively, I'll never know the answer because I walked up to a ranger with one hanging off my belt.
i graduated in 98 from high school and kids used to wear these to class and same in college.
It's a little bulkier than I like in a camelbak, but if it's the gun pocket you're looking for, it's pretty much alone in that respect.
I prefer on body carry, but when hiking, even the best holsters get a workout. I usually toss the M40 in the bigger pocket of my Scorpion.
Draw isn't the fastest, but I usually have the P3AT somewhere else more accessible.
Jesus 110? I remember when those things were like 35-40 bucks
I was leaning towards something like that as well, I was just curious if anyone had ever used it, because I want to know what the draw is like.
I may just go with a smaller camel back and throw it in the pocket in places I may run into someone.
You can still get just the camel backs for that, and sometimes less.
So these ones are special? What's so great about it?
I love camel backs when I'm hiking. Beats having to ask your buddy to grab your water bottle every time you want a drink.
who the fuck would wear those to class at college, let alone high school?
I've worn mine quite a few times.. but I'm a forester, so I don't think I count as true college student
I carry in a Goblin when I jog or hike.
