I've always heard it was the sharpest of any of the 70-200 breed, but never really put much stock into it. They're all super sharp and the only real difference you'll see is if you're a pixel peeper, which I'm not.

I've heard the f/4L IS is supposed to be sharper and have better bokeh (because of different blades used when it was redesigned) than the non-IS.
