Car: 1997 Honda Accord HU: Alpine CDA-9807 For the last year, I've had Sirius but when my contract expried I decided to switch to XM. When using Sirius, I used their "Sirius Direct Connect" for Alpine headunits, and that worked great. Now that I'm switching to XM, I had to buy the Terk XM Direct Universal Tuner (XMD1000) AND the Alpine Smart Digital Adapter (XMDALP1000). So I disconnect my Sirius stuff, and install the XM stuff, turn the key to the accesories position and voilla, everything works dandy. I can pick up the Preview Channel clearly with no static or feedback. The problem came when I started the engine. Once the car is running, the sound gets very crappy and I can hear a whine in the speakers that corresponds directly with the engine. If I rev the engine, the whine increases in pitch. I didn't think it could be a grounding issue, because all the power comes directly through the AINet cable from the headunit, there's no splicing into the wiring harness or grounding to a random bolt. I took both pieces of equipment back to the store and exchanged them. Same problem. Any help?
