what did you do for lighting?
Holy fucking slow host
#1 isn't bad, the rest are pretty meh. the lighting is harsh and the composition is snapshotish.
Agreed, looks like I am reading an Ebay ad.
Next time take two shots...wide of the bike in the lower right, taking up 1/6-1/9th of the frame, the first of someone on it doing a burnout, the 2nd of it stationary with no one on it (this is where it gets tricky), now mend the two so it looks like it is burning out with no one on it. You can figure out the rest (would need some kind of stand to keep it upright with the sans-person picture).
Just random stuff like that, a 1098 deserves a bit of production; more than just an ebay ad.
Sounds like a really great idea.
You asked for C&C of some 3/10 pictures of a 10/10 bike, you probably do not understand the idea of a production do you? My feedback was not meant to be a guide, it was meant to be a stimulation for you to think outside of the box. Pick up a motorcycle magazine, look at the advertisements, these are usually the most interesting and most unique because they are made to grab your eye; they will hold a lot of ideas for you to mimic or elaborate upon. Give the bike some personality. These pictures make me want to go play solitaire, NOT hop on a Ducati and burn down an oceanside highway (unless that was your intention, if so, good on'ya). If you want snapshots go throw your camera away and buy one of these:
When you are ready to take C&C like a true artist, go take some decent pictures and rehost.
This place is brutal lol.
I do kind of see his point though. I like the shots of the entire bike, because you get a lot to look at. The muffler? Meh. It only takes 2 seconds to enjoy that shot and it's done with.
You've read too many internet forums and "how to's"
You talk alot of shit and give harsh CC but have yet to post any of your work....you should show off your mad skills
Exactly. Constructive critisizm isn't explaining your fucking stupid ass idea on how to create a pic like you speak of. I am sure your the 4 year old sitting next to you that you think you are the father of helped you with that idea.
Besides, I posted the "normal" profile shots because people on several forums asked to see an overall pic or two. It was my first time actually shooting a motorcycle, and I am looking for hints and techniques to make my pics more interesting.......not for some retarded idea for a pic.
And just to remind you........waiting for this too.
dude....no gym for home? WTF?
good pics. saw it on DOT and Drag
Reread my first post, it was the one with constructive criticism. You were not looking for help here, you were looking for people to worship your Ducati. If you were actually looking for help you would have asked me to elaborate on my idea of a photo that tells a story about such a beautiful bike than pick a very disrespectful emoticon that shows you are not here to learn. My original post was written in genuine help. Do you want honesty or creampuff agreement?
My best work has come from the most honest constructive criticism; the indifferent yes-men I have encountered in life have not improved my work whatsoever but provide good refuge when I am feeling insecure. Nothing more.
This is great, you have an awesome subject and an excellent environment. I love the light as well, it is soft yet raw. You were asking for ideas that would make this an interesting photo and I threw one out there...so what is it that you are really looking for? I gave you an idea that would tell a story, give the bike some personality, add some adventure/excitement, a bit of suspense. Rule #1 in photo: Don't say no. I had a client once ask if I could get pictures of his car from up high while he was doing 60mph. Stupid fucking question right? How the hell am I supposed to do this? I found someone with an ultralight and made it work. I had to think outside the box instead of saying "no". Don't sell yourself short and act defensive when someone gives you honest genuine criticism. That is probably the bigger lesson that should be learned for all in this thread, not the actual photos here themselves.
I will not post samples of my work as it will hijack your thread and turn into an unnecessary pissing contest. If you wish to learn more, you are free to message me for further discussion and perhaps I will share some of my work with you.

Cool idea man
By popular demand.
Although your emoticons are quite cute, they provide very little insight to your actual thought process. Please elaborate.
