i priced out each one and there is like a 300.00 difference. is the p4 worth it in the end?
found an article comparing it to other cpus with tests
by all means yes
$300 price difference? Where are you shopping?
Only like $100 MAX difference.
Edit: woops you're in Canada but still shouldn't be that much of a price difference even there.
That being said I'd get the P4 over the Celeron still.
Just get an AMD64 based system and be over with it.
Intel is on it's last leg when it comes to designing good CPU's.
You are an idiot, if he wanted an AMD64 system, do you think he would of asked?
Wouldn't it be around the same price? It's a more viable option anyway.
The Celly is a good idea, but the P4 is a ripoff. Dish out less beans for an AMD64 based-rig.
Don't ever underestimate the power of a major corporation, i had the same thought about Nvidia after they released the FX5xxx series, boy was i wrong. PC parts manufacturers have their slumps now and again, and although i switched over to AMD, Intel will be around for a loooooooong time. Don't be naive like i was.
Dude, I know they will still be around for ages. OEM's suck their dick like mad!
I was mentioning the fact that they ran out of decent engineers, at least in the desktop department.
Quit trolling you little bitch if he wants to buy an intel so be it. You talk about how they are so bad and such yet you have never even owned a p4.
i would in no way ever buy a celery. the rents have one and its slow as hell. compared a celery 2 ghz is slower than my old amd 1600+
Lol, Tzedek .
If we are Net-Buddies, is flaming allowed?
Btw, my bro owned a P4 Dell that I used constantly and it sucked ass. Dimension 4400.
I hate people with comments like that.
its a Dell. Doesn't make the cpu bad.
Actually, that was back when Dell made good machines, back in 2002.
It's a nice box, it's just that the CPU became dated quicker than my 2000+ Palomino which I bought later that year.
Funny this is, I only paid $600 for that rig. Of course, the only parts from the original build I still have is the floppy drive/cable, and the memory stick.
