I really enjoyed this movie, anybody else? How historically accurate is this movie?
just finished it, enjoyed it myself as well
saw it twice
Not sure about how much Charlie did during the Afghan-Soviet war.
Just got done watching it an hour ago, I also liked it. I had to pay attention though to understand everything that was going on, since I wasn't alive during that time and all :]
I saw it yesterday afternoon, really liked it. Tom Hanks is definetely a great actor, and it doesn't hurt to have random hot chicks and Julia Roberts in a bikini either .
Pretty good flick.
I do like how they credit Charlie with bringing down the Soviet empire & don't give Reagan any credit. Lol, very early 80's. Anybody want a cigarette & highball after the movie.
I give it 4 out of 5 bugged liquor bottles.
This is a very late reply, but yes, Charlie Wilson was responsible for the Afghani's kicking the Soviets out of their country. If he hadn't gotten involved, the Russian's would have stomped that country out of existance. Reagan really didn't have much to do with it as it was all a money game (Congress) as opposed to a troop game (President).
If you liked the movie, read the book. It is out-fucking standing.
i know a guy... who claims to have been part of it, but he can't say what part he played in the real affairs.. LOL what a douche.. anyway.. good mvie
Good movie.... I enjoyed it. Tom Hanks, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Julia Roberts are all great actors. The only thing I didn't like was the ending. I feel like it just ended and there could have been a little more to it. But all in all a great flick.
