Good job chevy, this is the type of innovation we need.
yes we need more prius clones.
do you even understand what the volt is?
EV != hybrid
another shitty eco car that won't sell?
damn i couldnt even drive all the way to work on that battery
IIRC doesn't the volt run on full electric until the charge is depleted before changing to gasoline so you could in theory never use gas if you have a short commute?
a car that can run on electricity alone.
no thanks. would rather burn petrol and kill trees for some driving enjoyment and 12x the driving range
the volt will run 40 miles on electricity alone. Than the petrol kicks in, most people will not need to use the petrol motor.
32 miles of battery would be more than i need 90% of the time
thats why the volt is amazing.
The problem with electric cars is that you cant travel large distances
The problem with petrol cars is that they use fuel, but petrol is easy and instant to recharge
Therefor, electric range for your daily trips (and lets be honest, 40 miles could be 3 days worth of drive for alot of people), and petrol for long distances.
Downsides, the expense and weight of 2 drivetrains.
That would get me to and from work no problem... but I wonder - how much better would it really be for the environment if all of a sudden there was a massive jump to EV over gasoline.... i suppose a diverse selection of transportation is the best answer...
My commute to work is 2 miles each way.. school is 40 miles each way.. but still, once im done with school I could never have to put gas in my car ever again
no thanks, id prefer to live in a house than a box
another ugly design
If you were equipped with solar panels you could probably reduce your electric bill significantly and not have to pay to charge the car or for transportation really. At least once the panels and car are paid for.
It's really not that bad man.
EV's arnt really an environmental savior more so of a centralisation of power and removal of reliance on foreign oil.
Most of the US's power is generated from coal anyway. Running on electricity is still 1/3 of the cost per mile to the consumer.
Pretty cool minus the Apple interior.
It needs to lose the iPod dashboard.
