Just watched it las nite...... thought it was bad fuckin ass........ best part was in the asian club
bestid, way to sum it all up, the only thing i can add is that Cruise was good, so was Foxx.
Tom Cruise did an amazing job acting....the ending was average, i wish tom cruise lived and foxx and girl died....would have been a better ending.
I'm a huge Michael Mann fan and really liked this.
my only issue with the movie was the shootout at the end.
many times throughout the movie it was pointed out how good of a shot vincent was... yet at the end he missed from that close... repeatedly
ending was a total copout; they had built vincent up to be pretty much invincible by then and couldn't find a way to take him down; ended up going with the stupidest way possible.
rest was awesome though.
"I do this for a living, Max!"
best movie i had seen in ages, and then I saw man on fire. If u like collaterlal, you'll love Man on Fire
liked collateral, didn't like man on fire.
I liked Collateral except for the ending. And I really liked Man on Fire as well.
Collateral was a great film. I liked it a lot better than Man of Fire
I think its the most overrated piece of crap all year. Oh well...
Very cool movie, I didn't why this happened either. Obviously Vincent should have died because he was the bad guy, but how he missed? He should have been able to hit Jamie, unless he missed on purpose.
My thought was it was subconsious.... he grew to like Jamie, so let himself miss. The fact that he had already taken a bullet might have made him a bit slow/off too, but still it could only have really happened if on some level he wanted it
Definitely one of the better movies i saw this year (04-05).
What the fuck man? He meant to miss? fuck no! the metal door got in the way, he used his 3 shot techinque out of his instinct, he let his anger go over him, he couldn't "control" the situation but yes i agree it was a total copout that a professional assassin getting his ass handed by a fuckin god damn cabbie man, wtf thats gay!
One of the top movies this year, but sadly Cruise won't win an Oscar yet again...Aviator, Ray, and Million Dollar Baby were all better than Collateral IMO
i thought the ending ruined it for the reasons already stated. typical hollywood sappy happy ending...
when 28 days later was getting prepared to be realeased in teh states, they did sneak previews with different endings one in which the main dude dies at the end and monsters still out there (england version) and another where the dude, chick, and kid get rescued and everythign is happy and all the screenings responded more positively toward the happy ending than the other. bad guys don't win enough in movies today..wtf? thats why i liked swordfish too. tom cruise should've kicked his ass.
keep in mind this is a michael mann film... the cool bad guy usually dies (ie: Heat)
