The 1993 Toyota Supra Turbo smashed everything in the field right up to Ferrari.

    ok lets see...

turbo buicks stock stomped the piss out of everything...
1989 TTA stomped the piss out of everything...
91/92 Firehawks also stomped the piss out of everything and were a: offered with the T-Ram, which is loads better than the LT1 injection with a lot more torque and no restrictions like TPI had... and they were offered in 383 form :)

i dunno, even the 96-98 4.6L had what, like 215hp. I remember Road & Track saying that the 7.1s 0-60 was comparable to some family sedans, like the Impala SS, which weighed about 1000lbs more

Supras are limited to 155mph stock, so not top end, but chip it, and it'll run circles around the ZR-1, well, the '90-91 ZR-1, i'm not sure about the '92-95 when they had 405hp

If the traction control fuse is unplugged the speed limiter is removed.

    :werd: 180 mph stock, ZR-1 = ~175

And the Supra that ran the 13.1 @110 in the 1/4 was like God's Own Pass. I'll actually stand by the ZR-1 on that cuz I've seen several stock ZR-1's run 12.9's

Actually I've only seen one do that, but it was in real life at Sears Point :big grin:

i thought the GT was going to try and compete with the C5, and the new Cobra was the same motor, just tweaked for about 420 or so

hey anyone know what all they changed in the Supras from 93-98? aside from interior crap and colors, i mean performance wise. I've always wondered this, but nobody knew

Actually, you can credit the 1990 300ZX for starting the high end Japanese sports car revolution in the United States. It's also what prompted GM to begin to fix the C4 and ultimately, along with the rest of the field (RX-7, 3000GT, Supra), led to the C5.
