Computer and electronics dorks come complain about stuff here

currently restoring my backup to the new volume. Am curious if it's going to copy partitions and create the same dilemma :|
If it does, download Gparted and use that to extend the main partition.

FYI If Windows installer made another small partition after the main one then you move the small one to the end of drive first then extend the main one.

Yes, which I had used to clone the 256gb onto the 2tb, which created the mess I'm now in. I'm currently trying to create a boot USB for Samsung Secure Erase and just do that to the drive, that should basically wipe everything there and treat it as factory reset for the drive.

EDIT: To add: I did clone simply because I didn't wanna make room for an image on another SSD that's SATA

I don't want to jinx it, but I think what was causing my instability was curve optimizer even though I tested each core and then ran them all lower than the worst core (which was -17 I believe, I had them all set at -15) I've got it turned off now and it's been stable for almost 10 days which is the longest it's ever gone without a random reboot. So it's either stable now or it's going to reboot in the next little bit on me

Fucking CO. You should be able to set it so it only affects curves after a certain clock. Not idling.

In my case I set it so that the 2 preferred cores are only -25 with the rest at -30. So far it seems stable.

What sucks is at least with Windows 10 it would tell you which core was causing the instability in Event Viewer and you could adjust that specific core. Windows 11 doesn't do that so I've just been making a change then wait the 5 - 7 days for it to randomly reboot sometimes at idle, sometimes under load so I never really know WTF was causing it.

Just had a thought while shutting down my computer just now for the night and instead of hitting shut down, I hit restart. I think a good feature to be added into Windows would be a way to select shut down menu options and set any of them to require double click or single click.

I coudnt ESC out of this one and now I am 2 minutes late to bed

TIL people still shut down their PC every night...
Is so my cat cant order hookers while I sleep.

Also something about the rgb being bright seeping into my bedroom, I dont keep my bedroom door closed all the way so my cat can move about without hinderance. And if for some reason I need to download something huge overnight(I cant think of what that could be due to my already fastish speed), I can do that on my media server, that one stays on 24/7.

3 weeks ago I posted how the 2TB SX8200 Pro is getting excessive af writes from Docker on my linux server. I was running torrents on the same drive but moved them that day. So it now runs absolutely nothing but the docker containers (Plex, Jackett, Sonarr, rutorrent). In that time it has written 1TB more to the drive. :wtf:
