so i recently got a new hard drive and video card for my computer. reinstaled windows and my programs and everything, considering my old main hard drive was kinda crapping out, locking up here and there often. but now, all my 3d extensive games (fear, hl2, etc.) keep locking up my computer when i play them after 5 minutes, even when i have em set at the lowest graphic setting. wtf

im using my old main drive (the one that started to crap out) as a secondary slave, and use that for virtual mem. could that have sometrhing todo with it?

Did you try the default virtual mem settings first?

I made the mistake and did the same thing when I reinstalled this past weekend. I just went into disk management, remapped the drives (leaving C open) and reinstalled. I didn't have anything besides the OS installed so it wasn't a big deal for me.

Start/Administrative Tools/Disk Management. Without screenshots you're on your own from there.

Try this, open your case and put a fan blowing on your graphics card. I had this same problem some time ago on my old dell comp. The card was defective and would overheat, and lock games up after 5-7 minutes.
