Got bored.

Stuffed pepper soup.

Gf's friend wanted some "not spicy" so ended up with 2 pots. Total was the count you see there + more 16oz containers.

Roughly a 3 gallon run. Small batch by my standards. I normally do 4+ gallons in my big pot. This was my small big pot.
looks delicious but what do you do with all this soup? sell it? or you just eat nothing but soup everyday?

Hmm.

We make a lot of stews and soups in the winter. Made a bastardized Italian sausage, potato, kale soup today (Zuppa Toscana I guess). Regret not making a double batch as it’s consistently one of our favorites.

I've made a few of those. Very good soup.

Anytime I make a soup that includes potatoes I end taking a bunch of broth and about half of the potatoes/carrots/whatever else is chunky. I blend that half. And get it real thick n creamy then add it back to the full pot. I find it makes for a very hearty and cozy broth. I don't do it all like you would a split pea soup, but a good bit of it.

I especially do this for spicy potato bacon :tnod:

I really should start writing down portions/spices.... Every year the same soup is different. Never measure anything. Never remember what I did the previous year. Just love soup.

Also check out the Amazon reditainer extreme freeze collection..... I used to buy the cheap containers.... If you drop those after they're frozen, they crack. Fucking sucks.

These ones are great... I've dropped countless of them on concrete/tile while frozen and have never cracked one.

Nothing worse than having to stop everything you're doing to save soup from a bad container.

Also a big fan of these cause you can use the same lid for 8, 16, 24, and 32oz containers. Makes life easier when you're doing various things.

Just picked up a Weber Smokefire EPX6 Stealth. Last pellet grill I had was a shitty GMG portable model so I’m excited about this one.

Gen 2?

Pretty sweet setup as long as you keep it clean
Gen 2.5. They have improvements over the Gen 2 EX6. They gave me a pretty sweet MIL discount though and priced it the same as the EX6 and tossed in a cover and pellets.

Yeah that’s what I heard. Didn’t think the Yoder was worth nearly 2x the price and had a bad experience with GMG. Considered ReqTeq but I had always had a great experience with Weber.

I'm going to be smoking a bone in turkey breast. Do I need to brine it? Anyone have suggestions?

I did some boneless turkey tits a couple years ago and I don't think I did a brine. I don't remember if I did an injection either.

Planning to do 7lb bone in turkey tit for Christmas on the smoker. I think I don't need to do a brine but I'll do an injection.
