In the latest Ironman they had a profile on him. He looked really good at 60 when he competed in the Masters Olympia.
Seems like he's a vegan too, dunno how long he's been following that lifestyle though. Did he talk about it in the magazine ?
He wasn't a vegan when he competed. Even in the 96 Masters Olympia he still said he still consumed fish. In fact he was known for his tuna and dessicated liver shakes.
I think his vegan lifestyle was likely influenced by Bill Pearl since he was also heavily influenced by Pearl's high volume training.
He did admit his steroid regiment. He said he was taking 200mg testosterone, 150mg Deca per week and 10mg Dianabol per day when he was competing in the late 60's, early 70's. He described that as "lots of steroids."
No meat, no dairy? well he proves he knows what hes doing, I guess im dying young *cooks a steak*
Interesting Timb, I think I'm going to have to pick that issue up.
Interesting, does it say anything about him currently taking any GH?
I don't think so.
