Cool vid but nothing like THAT has happened on earth since the time life has come about. No life could ever survive something like that which means life would have to restart from scratch 6 times over. The asteroids that hit us were way smaller.
pretty cool video, I would expect the same kind of devastation if every man, woman and child on the planet decided to roll against Tony
6 times is a lot but there is a theory of how the moon was created this way since the excess waste that was thrown out into space would eventually form a ring around Earth due to gravity and eventually those parts accumulated into a Moon. For something like that to happen, you would need a very LARGE asteroid or whatever to hit the Earth.
I believe the video is over exaggerating the size of the asteroid but research does claim there to be 6 major mass extinction events that changed the course and lifestyle of the habitats here on Earth each time.
Unless one of them had no legs.
Eh? So Dinosaurs were not life? It would wipe out the earths surface, but the seas my friend, our where we once came. Well in theory I guess . We would also be fucked without a moon, so I really hope they get working on sending Ben Afflack and Bruce Willis into space.
Oh and life, not as we know it has been around for a frickin long ass time. I read about a bacteria that has been around for 2 billion years or something. The earth as we know it was apparently also shaped when another planet collided with us and formed. Without that event, life probably wouldn't be as we know it. I try not to think about shit like that, because we really have no fucking power over it, oh and apparently big ass bugs like starship troopers lol
Depressing.....But so interesting.
I wish it provided the evidence for the earth being hit like that 6 times.
I've never seen Armageddon but now i kinda wanna watch it.
It's such hollywood bullshit, but epic at the same time.
Armageddon was epic, considering how horrible Deep Impact was and since Deep Impact came out a couple months before Armageddon only makes Armageddon more epic.
I remember in Deep Impact I was actually hoping the asteroid would hit earth sooner.
This is a perfect time to make an excuse not to watch it.
Ya thats probably true, but those extinctions weren't done by anything like THAT, cause that would wipe out all life on earth each time and life would need to start all over each time. The mass extinctions didn't kill out all life, just the bigger shit that needed to eat a half ton a day.
