I can relate to the intent, and the emotion that something like that could incite in folks, but it's ghastly. I'm sorry, but that thing is pretty bad.
There was a thread on arfcom with custom lowers, couple decent looking 9/11 ones, but that one is just horrendous, maybe if it was black but red?
It looks like they sprayed it with red krylon spray-paint
although i guess as a collector piece it would be ok
Mabye it would look better if the engravings were colored in black or something, instead of white.
I think it would look cool with a set of red furniture.
I might buy it if it were really really cheap.
that thing looks really cheap, is that thing pink?
Why'd they make it red...
not feelin it
i think i just threw up in my mouth
Yeah, that's even worse than the first example. What a hideous firearm. Just because it is supposed to commemorate 9-11 it really isn't any better looking than some of those ridiculous DEs that you see "gangsta-ed".
That red furniture looks Reminds me of a little ricer car with all that plastic wire loom that they put on that's the same color as the car. ugh.
Its a nice thought, but no. The 2nd one would be fine if they didnt add all the red furniture and crap.
It's the thought that counts
I agree, I mean a simple etching on the magwell is cool, but all the colored shit? I dont think even 993 would do that. ibhepostsbluemagpul93bandneongreensurefire
Thats fine as long as you dont go putting red and yellow furniture on it. Normal looking gun with whatever engraved on magwell riced out with something engraved
I was looking around their website and found this, same exact lower except in black instead of red...
Which is the lower that is on the weapon in the second picture you posted. Like TL1000RSquid said, if it didn't have all that red crap all over it, it's not that bad.
I only go for that "it's the thought that counts" when someone is going out of their way to get that thought across. When they are making money on it, then it's not just the thought that counts. It's also a piece of merchandise that I have to want. All that red-ricer crap ruined a perfectly good AR.
If you photochopped that you did an excellent job. That AR looks 1000x better.
I like the tannish trim
I think the red was put in to pay tribute to firefighters, since their trucks are red. It looks bad.
