dude... me too :wtcd: MTB was easy to find but only like 1 out of 10 road bike helmets fit me and I eventually got a Specialized Prevail 2. Evade also fit.

The new prevail *almost* fit me. It’s a bit narrower across the top of the head than the last prevail; the evade was just about right.

It’s frustrating - the last gen prevail is the only helmet that fit me perfectly, and they changed it. I still have mine but we are going on a few years now and it probably should be replaced.

I'll try to remember to update here if I find anything else that works

I only need a new mtb helmet now but I'm being picky and the prevail 2 I have is insanely tall so I think it looks dumb and I might check out the new one and others.

Canyon Aeroad Ultegra or Cevelo Soloist Ultega... Which is the better bike?
I'd like to see tire clearances at the BB and fork, how cable routing works on both with the BB removed, if the BB is open inside the frame, but the biggest advantage to the Cervelo is cable routing and a traditional bar and stem at the front of the bike. I don't know that I'd spend $5k+ on a press-fit BB right now.
Stem length, bar width, bar shape, computer attachment, light attachment, and bell attachment are all problematic on barstems for me.

However, I'm a bit miffed that for $5500 you get a Tiagra crank, though I'd immediately replace it with a Stages dual sided crank. The aerroad bike is more expensive, but comes with a power meter that I'd immediately replace for a 170mm armed crank.

I might do the Canyon in your situation.

Tdz stg 8 done.

I did it last night too. That was a fun ride even though I have no idea how the group thing works. I thought it was like a pacer group thing so I just picked what seemed right and got absolutely smoked at the start. I clawed my way back to like 33/125 by the end but I had no idea WTF I was doing.

Any advice for my 3yo moving up from a balance bike? She has the hang of it and gets going really fast but her feet hit the ground again at speed and that throws her off. Not literally, but kills momentum and makes her wobble. Kind of an awkward position having to hold her feet up for a long time.

I'd really like to get her something with pedals. Should I just get a cheapie target/schwinn to have at the house for her to play around on?

edit: this one is on sale :omg:

Yeah, groupsets are weird right now. $1600 more gets a Soloist with full Ultegra and Reserve wheels with Zipp hubs (gross). That's probably the best deal in Ultegra bikes and it has the right BB, the right bar setup.

My brain is altered though when it comes to training bikes. I ride a gravel bike for all my training now and it has a top-tube bag, sometimes a handlebar bag, bell, light, etc.

I was like "LOL, wtf" at first but after reading a review they made a good point about parents not thinking twice about buying their kids iPads and other crap.

We just turned down an electric car my friend offered us for our kids. She's driven them before and gets in this strange, hyperfocused zombie mode where it doesn't even look like she's having fun. The kids each had one during that outing and they barely interacted.

Both our kids started on balance bikes around 2 & 3 and graduated to pedal bikes (trek kids 16”) around 3 & 4. Balance bikes are great and the kids only needed to learn the pedaling motion - no training wheels at all.

As long as she’s physically big enough, I suggest moving her onto a pedal bike

I wish I could get my kids to use their goddamn bikes. I bought one for my daughter at the beginning of the pandemic thinking that we were gonna be outside a lot. We were, but she didn't want anyfuckingthing to do with that bike. Then I completely rebuilt and repainted her old bike for my son in hopes that he'd ride it and he just doesn't want to pedal the goddamn thing. So now, I've taken the cranks off and dropped the seat and turned it into a balance bike for him and now he wants the pedals back. :squint:

Wouldn't mind picking up a Cannondale, Cervelo or Scott Gravel Bike so if you guys happen to see anything on sale let me know.
Addict Gravel look great. I really want a Foil RC 20, but nobody around carry them. Not sure I want to order a bike sight unseen.
Good luck

That’s what I have but I have the 2022 not the 2023. Seatpost thing is a big turnoff
Seat post with an integrated light is a cool idea, but yeah the execution is questionable.

Yeah I saw your post on the foil a while back, nice bike. How do you like it so far? What did you cross shop, and where in OKC did you find it? I may have to take a drive there one day

I agree the idea is cool. But maintaining a Seatpost is just over the top IMO.
So far I like it but not a ton of miles. I love the way it rides and handles.

Neighborhood bicycle shop of Norman. If you decide to check it out let me know I’ll give you the owner names. They are amazing to deal with.

Edit: I cross shopped damn near everything

Thanks. I need to learn how to pace and take things easy. This shit brings out my competitive side and I tend to turn into a glass cannon instead of slowing down and focusing on the long game. :hs:

I've 100% ruined a race cause I had the lead for 15 seconds off the start. Just not worth it. I sort of set a rule, for every 10 miles of distance, I will do a 1/2 mile of hard push at the end (max effort) - so I try to mentally leave that in the energy bank to really push at the end.
