I have a problem.

Just finished this 1987 Peugeot single speed. Gonna be a great bar hopper/kid chaser when the weather stays warm.

And I found this frame today: a 1989 Giant Cadex Carbon. This thing is all kinds of cool. Aluminum lugged construction and in decent shape. The top layer of epoxy has some minor damage, but I think I can fill and sand it out. Structurally it looks pretty damn good. There's enough steerer tube on there to go threadless with a slammed stem, so it'll probably look pretty cool whenever it's done. 130mm rear dropouts so I can run modern a modern wheelset/drivetrain if I want.

That needs a full modern wireless setup

My big beef with these bikes is the 20/24 hole lacing on the wheels. There is a Lab71 decal coming for my Al Topstone with holes drilled in it for Di2.

I'm 5'10" and I'd have to buy that new Evo in a size 51 to keep the barstem and seat post; size 54 would require replacing both of those and I'm sure that adds another g-bar

gotta admit the new cannondales are sexy.

Yea i the high gloss maroon is great.

But the Lab71 version is like $3000 more than the Evo4 and you get what, 40g savings and a nice handlebar?

This is quickly becoming bikeblog.fryingpan.offtopic.com

Lots of the surface scratches and chips sanded right out and then I sprayed everything with 3 coats of matte clear. I left some of the deeper scratches just because they add some personality/history to the frame and I didn't trust myself with epoxy work. :hs:

Decided to do a SRAM Apex 1 setup on it just because I haven't done a "sporty" 1x yet and Apex 1 has no direct Shimano equivalent that isn't $$$ and mechanical.

Love that frame. Is there any concern about the bonding glue after so long?

The Specialized Allez Epic, which used the same sort of lugged/carbon construction were supposedly only good for 10 years, sooooooooooooo, maybe? It certainly feels solid in hand, but what's solid in hand may not respond the same to being whacked over an expansion joint at 25 mph.

I still can't get my mind off a new Canyon gravel bike. I just wish they had more/better color options.

Ok crew that has done lots of structured training. Sunday I’m planning a pretty tough vo2 workout. 75-90min in length. Monday my plan is 2.5-3hrs z2.
I assume it’s ok to follow up a hard workout with a z2 ride if I’m rested going into Sunday. That will be two good workouts in a row and then recovery Thurs

That's common programming for me. Make sure it's endurance pace so you'll probably need to ride alone. Is this a real VO2 workout or something power based?

Ugh, Bont issued my refund in USD so I had to pay $40 for my bank to process. It's going to cost me $1100 to get two pairs of shoes that fit.
