$1,449 now from B&H after rebate of $100. I paid $1,550 for mine last October!
what the gay ...it's like 2k up here in Canada ..
yeah the exchange rate is like 1.10 now
1 usd dollar = 1.10 Canadian dollars
So it isn't really the exchange in this situation b/c $1449US = $1594 CND
Thats defintely my next lens purch.
How do you like yours?
i wnat one
I think I'd buy the 18-200 VR first.
Thats what I did
It's on back-order everywhere.
Maybe the most popular lens ever?
Just out of luck, got mine from a local retailer right before they sold out, they get like 8 a week
Just poor planning by Nikon.
And to think I paid around $1700 for my 70-200VR when it came out... booo
the 80-200 is 1300 brand new and the 70-200 is 2000 brand new .... I'm pondering if I should realy pay that much just a VR?
Order from the states dude, right now our dollar is almost on par with theirs; save big money + no tax
true but that's if I can get it in Custom without being taxed ..and also warranty ... Nikon canada won't even do a repair on anything if it's not purchased in Canada which makes it gay
difference between this and 18-200 VR?
It gives you special access to events.
i dont think you have ever answered me seriously
I am not kidding.
There's no fcking reason for a manufacturer to have such an excessive backorder on a part. I work in manufacturing, specifically the procurement side, so I am familiar with how companies purchase raw material for production orders and forecasted orders in addition to working with operations on the manufacturing of these items. There's no reason to have a backorder of 2+ weeks, let alone 2+ months (ie Nikon 18-200) unless someone really fucked up.
I was told it's almost 8 month
70-200 has an f/stop of 2.8 at all ranges.
18-200 has an f/stop of 3.5 at 18mm and f/5.6 at 200mm
