Was swapping out my grip on my AR and managed to mangle the selector spring. Dammit.
I was installing my ASAP and my rear takedown detent spring got all mangled. Luckily I had a spare from my LPK.
I've got 30 LPKs behind me but I can't bring myself to opening one. I'll just order a couple with my next order from a supplier. Just don't like not having my AR...
won't a spring from a bic lighter work?
They work fine if they are bent
Not as bent as mine. There are multiple bends (don't ask me how I did it, I have no idea)
One of the benefits of the AR design is the lack of threaded things to fall out or loosen. For the relatively few times that selector/pin springs need to be dealt with it's easy enough just to take your time.
I see no problem with tapping the holes. Even if the set screws loosened up they can't go anywhere.
I did the same shit when I put my ASAP plate on. Dug into one of my spare LPKs and then ordered the replacement spring from midway for like $0.30.
