2 guys on another forum are insisting that he's stepping down ala Gary Shaw style?
Dana isnt going anywhere
Yeah, not going to happen.
What, are gays and retards going to boycott the UFC? That really going to dent their fan base
matt hamill fans.
He really needs to. If UFC wants the their company to go mainstream and to really take off they need a much better president. Dana's head is too big and he will be pushed out sooner or later. The UFC is losing out on a lot of money.
No they are not. The UFC would go down hill without Dana
Yeah Dana is a great face for the UFC and a great personality. Would you watch a David Stern vlog? I doubt David Stern is giving any "Do you want to be a fucking NBA player?" speeches.
In for the apology vid.
Dana has done great things for the UFC. He may be an asshole but he's been with the UFC through thick and think. He took them to the top and put the UFC out there in the public sphere. I think the UFC must be heavily responsible for the growth of mma in the UK aswell.
tiki was the best part
And you know this how? This is about money and if they want to ever get to boxings popularity in their prime they need a D. Stern type.
MMA != Boxing.
trying in anyway to compete with, mimic, or compare MMA to boxing is a recipe for Fail.
financial trends and buy rates say that everything is going just fine in UFC-ville.
I think Dana will eventually step down, or at least step into the background, But not for another 5-10 years until MMA is solid in the mainstream.
Every big time promoter in boxing is a fucking crook.
At least reference a league not run by thieves.
I was about to say the same thing.
@ you for thinking that is relevant. I said if they want to get the popularity that boxing had. It's still pretty much a niche sport. What does that have to do with the crooked promoters?
He's not stepping down, you have to be crazy to believe that.
I can't remember the last time offline I heard someone talk about boxing other than a friend of mine who is a referee (though he does predominantly MMA refereeing now). But on a regular basis I hear people talking about the UFC. Seems to me they're doing alright. Maybe you can fax them your resume and they'll let you fix the company for them.
The two sports are completely different and really can't be compared as far as tracking popularity.
Boxing's popularity is dependent on individual fighters not an organization or the sport as a whole.
I did wonder about this when Lorenzo left the family legacy with stations to focus on UFC full time. Interesting. I dont think Lorenzo has the flare that Dana has.
Uhhhh, might have to do with Station Casinos impending bankruptcy and Zuffa's immense success..
I'm not a business person though, just a guess.
Yeah but didn't Lorenzo leave Station Casino a long time before their impending bankruptcy?
Not really. Lorenzo "left" Station about 6 months ago. Financials have been poor for Station for 18 months.
It doesn't matter. Lorenzo is not going to be the "face" of the UFC and Dana is not stepping down. This thread is retarded.
