Asked by a reporter why the cause was important, Brenda Botello, who quit on Friday because she was afraid of being fired, said: "Because we are Mexicans... We need to find another job."

Seems logical

At Ben's Kosher Delicatessen Restaurant & Caterers in Long Island, New York, 25 workers were fired Friday when they returned to work, according to Telemundo 47. Police escorted the workers from the restaurant — most of whom were undocumented and have worked there for years.
so are they going to get in trouble for hiring illegals?

and not sure why these places would fire them. if customers are unhappy, explain to them why. no reason to make yourself look like a dick over one day.

Yea hard to figure a company firing people for taking the day off to make a political statement when they have a business to run

Hey 100 less people without work means 100 people just got a break. Trump sure can create jobs even when they are gone lol

You ever run a business ? if you havent imagine if you decided to fuck off and not pay your bills for months and see how the banks and your creditors will treat you. You will walk into a boarded home, no car and wondering why ? the amount of money lost to these business on a single day can be damn right painful but now you know you have a work force that thinks it can pull this stunt ? so you want to keep then around for the next day they cost you 100s of thousands of dollars is loss ? seriously... cmon man.

Because they are trying to run a business not a political activist group. Their employees didn't show up for work after being explicitly told they would be terminated. What would you do with an employee that disobeyed you? They choose their own fate.

damn bro, why are you so mad? yes, i have ran a couple businesses, and have many times dealt with multiple people out at a time. it's one fucking day, for something the employees feel strongly about. if this was a common occurrence i can understand. now not only did you lose whatever you lost that day, you have the costs and risks of hiring new employees. add in the bad press, it was a stupid decision.
