the 100% liberal run new jersey has been trying to legalize pot for the last 4 years

our current libtard governor promised it multiple times that it would be his "#1 priority" when elected and he then forced the people to vote for it this past year which we overwhelmingly did saying it would be legal on 1/1/21

its still illegal in february and arrests are still being made :)

the gov of nj has vowed to do this for years, and even after 2/3rds of the population voted to legalize weed nj, it still hasn't passed through the government. so, I'll wait.

but a federal designation of decriminalization would help a lot for people with and who like guns

Arrests are being made? The attorney General said they aren't prosecuting cases

Also surprisingly enough Democrats in the state legislature blocked the bills getting passed.

I'm in favor of this, but you can't go further. You can't say, "well weed is legal, why shouldn't we legalize heroin?"

The fact that fairly hard R states like Arizona and South Dakota have legal recreational is proof nobody on much of any side of the political spectrum sees it as worth criminalization anymore.
