My wife is a dentist, if you're in Dallas let me know...if not, she would advise you to contact your dentist asap, they need to look at it in person to diagnose.
The worst physical pain I ever had in my life has been extraction tooth pain.fuck tooth pain. shit sucks.
Not to scare you but my sister in law has had more than 20 major face surgeries because of a mishap while doing a root canal. Her jaw got infected, and they had to cut a piece of her leg bone out to fix it, and she almost died last year.
And she’s not done getting surgeries. They still haven’t 100% fixed it. They said it could be a lifetime thing.
This. This is why I didn't mess around. They put a crown over a non root canaled tooth? I had a root canal, then a crown, for about six months without problems.
I take care of my teeth like it's my job, but somehow, it got infected. I was sent to a specialist to just look at x-rays, and a CT.
There is a tiny spot at the bottom of the root, and an equally tiny spot on the bone, so it's implant time.
If there's ever an option to get a root canal in the future, I'm going with an implant. They last longer, and generally have fewer complications.
Mamas, send your kids to dental school.
Bonus, if they specialize.

Why'd you need crowns on your incisors?Hi dentist. I had 2 incisors with crowns break off inside of a month. X-rays couldn’t see anything
So I am missing 2 teeth while the bone heals for the implants. Fun talking point
Thank god I can afford to buy them sans payment plan etc
It was purely cosmetic. The original teeth just were not big enough to look right. It was the front 4 on topWhy'd you need crowns on your incisors?
Dont go to a dentist for a root canal find an endodontist
All of thisI went to a dentist once apparently they missed 2mm of my root,
The image quality between the dentist and endodontist was night and day. The endodontists xray machine could pretty much see every single nerve ending
was your dentist @GonadWarrior ?All of this
Had a dentist do a root canal over a year ago, tooth got infected again dentist referred me out to endodontist to have it retreated.
All dentist could do was look at plain oldschool x rays.
Enodontist had a 3D imager could show me my whole tooth in 3D where the infection was multiple angles of my tooth etc etc and how I had an extra "wide" root, versus my original dentist was eyeballing the roots on my tooth maybe he had "magnification" on his glasses not sure. But original dentist didn't have a full on microscope with a camera attachment to take pictures of my tooth while he was working on it like my endodontist did.
Endodontist had a whole microscope contraption over my head, while he retreated my root canal.
1st retreatment was good but then started to hurt had pain similar to @Ranger-AO tooth would throb when my heart rate increased.
Went back to endodontist he retreated again and hopefully it will hold this time.
But yeah what @LancerV said night and day what tools/devices dentist/versus endodontist have.
nah he helped me when I had questions though.was your dentist @GonadWarrior ?![]()
Why crowns over veneers? It was purely cosmetic. The original teeth just were not big enough to look right. It was the front 4 on top
I don’t know. It was 15 years ago.Why crowns over veneers?
Technology aside, what you learned from this is that retreatments are a possibility, even when done by an endodontist. Teeth can have accessory canals that hold small amount of microbes that can later lead to a "hot" tooth. All of this

15years is pretty decent for front teeth that get a lot of usageI don’t know. It was 15 years ago.
And it was all fine until 4 weeks ago?
But yeah X-rays didn’t have an issue you just couldn’t see beyond them so it was kinda undetectable. All the bursting in the world couldn’t help
Agreed, endodontist was on the conservative side and wanted to try every possible outcome before going to implant.Technology aside, what you learned from this is that retreatments are a possibility, even when done by an endodontist. As a dentist I find it silly that people are saying to skip a RCT and go straight to implant. I'll only provide that treatment plan to someone with a hopeless/non restorable tooth
That’s now the worry. If the incisors broke then what’s to keep the front 2 from breaking. If you can’t see with X-rays do you preemptively do something or just hold off?15years is pretty decent for front teeth that get a lot of usage
Recrown them if/when they fail, or recrown them if you aren't satisfied with the aesthetics, tech/materials have come a long way in 15yrsThat’s now the worry. Maybe the incisors were ground too far and the front 2 are good to go. Or they break also
Preemptively spend 15k or wait? If one breaks then yes do both but I could just do them all and go a slightly lighter color
Well for the incisors there was nothing else to grab on to. The option was a bridge but that’s not ideal at all if there is potential for others to fail the same way.Recrown them if/when they fail, or recrown them if you aren't satisfied with the aesthetics, tech/materials have come a long way in 15yrs
Anterior upper implants are not favorable at your age unless indicated
company says there's a dentist at my destination that can do the deed.@Ranger-AO you going to the dentist homie?
