Like any other battle pass, as you level it up it unlocks certain things each season, they're claiming it's only cosmetic stuff now. Usually there's a free version that gives you rewards every few levels and constantly reminds you of the shit you didn't get because you didn't buy it.

It's a great way to get money for free to play games, but on top of a full price game is ridiculous imo.

I guess I shouldn't really complain, I play wow which is sub based anyway. So it amounts to the same thing.

It just feels like they should be more up front with it all.

I haven't been following Diablo 4 development but I read early on it was trending more towards MMO-Lite, maybe like lost ark.

If that's the case, then perhaps it being monetized like an MMO might be kind of okay
