We still used cement board under the schluter. Never tried epoxy grout…. Went quarts sanded and am finishing up the hexagon as I type

I know quite a few contractors. They all laughed when I told them I was doing ditra on cement board. It came out great and I will never have to worry about it.

But it is a PITA and I'll probably do kerdi board for the next bathroom.

It’s pretty, but that’s a lot of daylighting poking through around the edges/corners
We are letting the wood cure/dry more before sealing off. We’ve learned over the years if you do it right away and you get the guaranteed movement it’s a pita to then correct

Nothing I’ve posted is in final completion. Very much in the shit and juggling about 8 massive projects lol

I don't know if it's right or wrong but our builder finished out the shower enclosures with caulk around all corners as well. It doesn't look bad and in Texas it makes sense (as we have shifting foundations due to soil composition)

Is that like some sort of storm shutter/cover on each side?

Btw looks amazing

Yea. They had to be in place to pass inspection when we bought the house. Haven’t decided our next move with them

This bathroom vanity has been a freaking project.

I never really did anything with the bathroom when i moved in, it was shitty, the quality of the work and installation of everything sucks, location, materials. Fiancee finally moved in and motivated me to do something about it. She picked out the white and green combo, i did the install and painting. I'm a novice at best but i do better work than what was previously done.

Plumbing was fucked, i had to rerun the hot water around the box because it was previously run between the dry wall and the box. Then i added quarter turn valves.

The outlet and switch in the photo were moved and a vanity light switch installed

Cut out some of the drywall to fit some boards to mount the vanity to.

I haven't gotten the motivation to figure out what to do about this yet...its been a year with no issues so no rush I suppose

oj5vfxjoz1i71.jpg

oh boy. thats a slow drainer.

open wall up; move sanitee lower.

instead of having those sinks drain into a T that turns to the wall do something like:

center one becomes a clean out.

Yea, haven't really noticed slow draining though and like I said its a been a little over a year so far with no problems + me shaving

But yea, hoping when it comes time to it I can just move it down a smidge and move on with life. I like the vanity

I also like the p trap mixed orientations, whatever
