Seems there is a lot of tension between them.
Only the ones who pretend they do a lot of hard work.
My CO is awesome because he always jokes about the bullshit paperwork he has to do, while us grunts bust our asses.
Officers are generally smarter than enlisted, so I like their company a lot more than other enlisted. I get to meet my Platoon Commander in a week, so that will be fun .
only the jackass ones
I only hate the ones that you got to salute to.
someones gonna get promoted haha
Shaddup Haolie. Sweet the Lanais.
Undertable promotion scores just released. Socrates was at the top of the list.
I can agree with that.
My old platoon leader was cool as fuck (Now he's my XO since I changed companies with him) since he wanted what HAD to be done done and could give a fuck about the rest of the stuff... Plus he would talk shit and let you talk back to him. If you weren't doing work, he was relaxed. My current one always talks about how high speed she is and how she'll smoke you if you aren't always doing the right thing. Then like two weeks ago she broke out the "YAY I've been in the army for a full day today!" sentence while we were talking to her... And then when we were doing a field problem she was like "you shouldnt' be sitting around at all, you need to be doing work at all times." All the enlisted soldiers with combat patches told her bullshit and that she needed to get a combat patch before she tells us how to do our job... It got her pissed off, but she shut up. That's the kind of officer I hate. Hell, my battalion commander is hard, but he's not a prick. I think he's a great leader.
Yeah, Uhh maybe you should, uhh, be doing some work.
I'm in the signal corps. After the shot is set up you wait for it to go down. That is what we were doing. Train as you fight right? That's what I did in Iraq for a year, so don't expect me to change my ways because of a snotty bitch with barely a year in and no combat experience thinks she knows what she's talking about.
I don't ever wait for my shots to go down, I line another one right up and, if it is 151, chase it with a beer.
Yes, all officers are a-holes. Even the prior-e ones.
i just dislike anyone that leads with attitudes based on ideals instead of reality
There can be several things the breed discontent between Officers and enlisted, NCOs and peons, and Leaders ship and peons in general....
1. Leading with an air of arrogance/personality..... Holier than thou gets your coffe mug dirty dicked quicker than you would believe.....
2. Not listening to subordinates inputs (there is a time and a place for it)
3. Assuming you know more than everyone else just cause you are the boss...... sorry LT.... you need to let the Gunny train you......
4. Incorrectly/ineffectively utilizing your people and their skills......
These things can overlap.....
The officers that enlisted really dislike are usually disliked by other officers as well... and is justified.
I don't think the majority of enlisted dislikes the officer community. Every person is different, regardless of paygrade...if they're an asshat, they'll be treated like one, whether it's direct or indirect.
I wonder how many here know what Haolie means?
any turd with half a brain and knowledge of Hawai I would imagine?
learning a lot from this thread... seems like there's a challenge to balance taking advice and listening to nco's and not be their bitch.
My NCO's and SNCO's take good care of me, while still letting me pretend I'm in charge and not taking advantage of the situation. In turn, I do what I can for them, let them off early when I can, etc.
ever since they fire everyone in my reserve unit that's in position of leadership (first sgt, xo, & co) holy shit. what a world of difference it made.
my CO (major waugh, soon to be lt col.) is a great leader.
