my 24-70L doesn't allow a lens cap on top of the filter.
I dont use uv filters
I don't use any filters either
I have filters but I only use them in dirty, dusty conditions.
what kind of filter do you have on it? my B+W on my 24-70 has no problem taking a lens cap
yes, i'd only get a filter if it was front-threaded as well
yes, i do
it's not the lens that doesn't allow it. sounds like your filter is a piece of shit.
oh, and my answer is yes. taking off and putting on filters over and over again is a pain in the ass.
was thinking of doing this on my next mtb ride
No filters for me, unless its a CPL
so you're not only putting a crappy piece of glass on top of your beautifully engineered optical device, but now you're letting that collect dust and get scratched up?
Every lens I have has a uv filter on it, and every filter has a lens cap on it. Better safe than sorry.
All my lenses have B+W filters and I use a lens cap on every one of them.
I have one UV and one CPL that I pass from lens to lens. All always have the lens caps on.
UV 0 filters and front-threaded FTW
Yes I do
ahh, I just read something about slim filters not having front threads (but do some?)
I need to order a slim polarizer for my 10-20, I was going to get the B+W, can anyone verify that it has the front threads?
I keep my filters spotless
That's par for the course for 1200mk, brah.
I toss the lenses uncapped on both ends into the same bag compartment as my keys, $12.18 in loose change and collection of various fishing lures.
