GAME Do you sell games when you're done with them?

I have about 50 PS3 games sitting on the shelf. As most of you on my friends list know, I'm usually just playing SSFIV and whatever happens to be the new hotness until I inevitably shelf it 10 minutes - 1 week later and continue sucking ass at SSFIV.

The PS3 is actually the first system I've never sold a game for, except for Virtua Fighter 5 which I managed to return to the store.

Anyway, I'm considering selling 90% of my games for around $500, but I'm wondering if that amount of money is even worth it. It almost seems like a better idea to just keep my collection going, even though it's slowly becoming more and more worthless. :dunno:

What do you guys do with your games after you shelf them? Should I keep them, or get rid of them? :o

I used to ALWAYS sell my games after I was done.

Now? Never. Unless I really know I'll never ever touch or look at the game again (i.e. Two Worlds 2--loved it, but never again). That's the only game I've sold thus far.

Keeping them is much better now.

:werd: Used to sell mine as well. I know I'll never touch most of my games again, but I feel foolish selling them for so little money :o

I used to when I didn't ever have money and needed to scrape together everything possible to buy a new game - but now they're worth much more to me sitting on my shelf with an outside possibility I'll play again or a friend will want to play than to get $2.50 each for selling them.

I used to never sell my games, now I sell them if I don't play it for a month or two. :o

Amazon has a pretty good trade in program. :dunno:

I would take $500, you will say ill play them again but you wont. With the $500 you can go buy 8-10 more games that will result in alot more play time that those 50 games combined.

used to never sell until I got the playstation. If it sits on the shelf for two months unplayed, it goes. There are some exceptions like uncharted 2. But for the most part I finance my gaming habits with games I already bought.

This is true. Even if I spend it elsewhere, I'll probably get more use out of the money than having games sit on the shelf. Shit, that's airfare to Vegas for EVO or something. :o

If by sell you mean put them in the envelope and ship em back to Gamefly, then yes I absolutely to sell them when I'm done.

Also just got Killzone 3 in

I never trade in my games. I guess I'm a hoarder of games. I only get rid of games when I get rid of a system. And even then I hold onto a few choice games even though I have no way to play them. :o

Yep. I only traded in Two Worlds 2 because Gamestop had that 50% extra trade-in credit thing going right now. Used that to buy MvC3 and a TE stick :big grin:

Yeah. I sold Final Fantasy 3 and Dragon Warrior 4 and then I wanted to kill myself.

I used to keep every game and system I had, then started selling and trading in when I got bored of them. It seems like you used to get a lot more for your used stuff than you do now, back in the days of the mom and pop used video game stores. Took like 12-15 games to Gamestop last week and they wanted to give me $68 for all of them (That included a bonus 60% trade in credit) :ugh: So back on the shelf they go. They wanted to give me $1.60 for Gears of War, and like $12 for New Vegas. For that price, I'm definitely not gonna part with them. If nothing else they will be a bonus for someone who buys my system when I move to the next gen console, whenever that is.

Most of your prices seem fair I suppose. You can get Uncharted and Little Big Planet shipped for $10 new though.

I didn't set those prices, they're the lowest used prices on Amazon. Just a reference I guess. :dunno:
