I am thinking of buying an SSD for it to back up all my preferences but they are sofaking expensive.
I use it all the time for downloading photos from my CF cards using the CF card adapter. Fast and easy to carry around the adapter.
I do on my MBP
I should get a cf card adapter, but I never remember when I have money to just blow on something.
I have never known what it is for.. what is a CF card?
I have a flash card reader that I keep in it all the time. Really comes in handy. Highly recommend everyone grab a cheap one and just leave it in your machine. Use my SATA II card for backing up and other high volume/speed data tasks.
never used mine
nope, but plan to with external HDD's at some point
compact flash, the largest of the digital media for digi cams . . . somewhat outdated, but the fastest speeds for mid to pro dslr's.
They have these things called usb thumb drives.
i have 2 that I used with my MBP. A 2 port ESATA II card and a Flash memory reader. Both were very handy
do they make a CF reader that doesn't stick out?
not that i know of
I had an esata expresscard but it causes kernel panics. So i don't use it at all now.
I am thinking about getting an SSD to stick in there to boot from
wtf for. They are slow as balls.
I thought SSD's were fast
Sequential Access - Read up to 115MB/s
Sequential Access - Write up to 65MB/s
I'd skip on that. I am pretty sure it uses a cheap jmicron controller which is a very poor performer. I would much rather just use a good 7200rpm drive over one of those.
