Second question: Can you post/elaborate on said drills/training?
what are you doing them for
Cleans and snatches for explosiveness and tyre runs (or the equivalent dep on available equp) for foot speed.
I do stair sprints too but be careful that you work your way into the volume because you'll kill you tendons, esp. your achilles
plyo box jumps kick ass
plyometrics own your life.
When I was playing I would do simple plyo and I would notice the difference day by day.
Complex training is a great way to increase strength and explosiveness and is quite effective for sports specific training, as you can modify it to do whatever you want for whatever sport. Also, if you wish to increase footwork, you say you play hockey, go do wind sprints out on the ice. That'll get your power and your economy of motion pretty squared away.
Forgot to add that complex training is real stressful on your body, so you're going to need a foundation of strength in order to do it without risking injury
