Firearms were banned for personal carry on airlines?
Probably back in the early 80's when plane hijackings were very popular.
Did a quick search cause it got me curious I couldnt find any solid dates but looks like it was actually sometime in the 60's
what i want to know is when personal carry was generally outlawed.
i'm assuming, back around the turn of the 20th century, you could carry concealed, and no one would think otherwise. When did it become unlawful to concealed carry?
and i'd guess whenever they started putting in metal detectors. I'm not old enough to say, but i'd guess 50's or 60's
I think alot of stuff started earlier then that NFA act in the 30's I think some cities like NY and Chicago may of had restrictions on carrying firearms even earlier then that around the turn of the century, even earlier then that in the Old West some towns had restrictions on carrying guns in town. Stuff on the state level your probably right with 50's and 60's.
I live in a town of no more than 2000 people.
A nice small white town (cept for the low cost housing )
My grandpa said after school hed walk home, get his pistol and rifle and walk to the outskirts of town and shoot rabbits and other varmints on a farmers property.
So I guess maybe in the 50s or 60s.
Hell, I did that in the 80s.
I think he also said he used to keeps a rifle in his car at school just in case he wanted to go shoot.
He also said he used to get beer breaks at work (auto mechanic)
Life was so much better back then
In another 50 years, our grandchildren arent even gonne know what their rights are because they wont have any. Atleast we were born at this point in time to where we atleast know whats being taken away from us.
I wouldn't necessarily call that a good thing.
