I was shocked when it won as many awards as it did because it was the opposite of the good yet immediately forgettable “Oscar bait” movies we get every year that are Academy darlings.
Everything everywhere was something that felt very fresh and incredibly different in a sea of “big budget blockbusters” or mid-budget good, yet forgettable and formulaic “obviously for your consideration” movies.
Everything everywhere wasn’t perfect, but it was spectacular in the literal sense
The film itself was definitely a huge achievement, imo. You gotta respect it. The story was super novel and the execution was quite good. It just got a little too far up its own asshole towards the end.
It is literally a bad episode of Rick and Morty
Since when is multiverse BS novel? What’s the achievement?
there are 20 year old romcoms with a similar premise
