Chick claims it does. Truth to this?
well.. it COULD cause cancer... everything can cause cancer.. if she does not want to be on birthcontrol then other forms of BC can be used.
Condoms are terrible, nuva(sp?) ring is terrible, abstinence is futile...
She swears that there's a significant change of getting cancer when taking birth control.
Yeah, she doesn't want sex. Just looking for excuses.
Everything causes Cancer now. Smoking. Not smoking. Drinking. Not drinking.
Shit, we all gotta die at some stage
well there has not been any hard evidence that birthcontrol causes cancer.. if she is the nautral type I would not push the issue cause BC pills are full of crap natural people do not care for... however you can search google and you can pull up a whole buch of myths on the issue. yall would be stupid to have sex with out some form of BC... unless yall want to have a baby.
No, she just wants to be stupid about sex. A family member recently died of cancer, so she's particularly weird about it.
Absolutely. I told her that we're not having sex until she's on BC. She thinks the "pull out" is good enough.
if it is breast cancer it is a valad concern.
Breast cancer: The association of birth control pill use and breast cancer in young women is controversial. The Collaborative Group on Hormonal Factors in Breast Cancer performed the most comprehensive study in 1996. The results demonstrated that current pill users and those who had used birth control pills within the past 1-4 years had a slightly increased risk of breast cancer. Although these observations support the possibility of a marginally elevated risk, the group noted that pill users had more breast examinations and breast imaging studies than nonusers. Thus, although the consensus states that birth control pills can lead to breast cancer, the risk is small, and the resulting tumors spread less aggressively than usual. Most doctors currently believe that birth control pill use might interact with another primary cause to stimulate breast cancer.

Cervical cancer: The relationship between birth control pill use and cervical cancer is also quite controversial. The risk is not related to the contraceptive agent itself but to how it leaves a woman unprotected from STDs. Early sexual intercourse, numerous lifetime sexual partners, and exposure to human papillomavirus are all important risk factors. Most authorities now believe that, if birth control pills increase the risk of cervical cancer at all, the risk is small.

Benign liver tumors: Hormones are metabolized by the liver. A small increase in the frequency of benign liver tumors may exist, particularly after 4-8 years of birth control pill use.
It wasn't. So first, BC causing cancer is a myth. Now, BC causing breast cancer is a valid concern?
anytime you put a chemical in/on your body you increase your chance of cancer... weither it be .001% chance or 50% chance.
tell her to snort it
My understanding is there is anecdotal evidence to indicate a minute possibility of a slight increase.
I'd go for that over unwanted pregnancy as a near definite.
Depends on the type of pill and her risk factors.
I hear it works better that way
My honest opinion is that the pill is to "new" for side effects/cancers to be known.
However, it might NOT be an excuse against sex. My mother is verrrry wary of birth control pills just because she's not comfortable putting chemicals into her body. Nothing wrong with being suspicious about things like that but maybe you should ask your gf where she got her information and talk about other methods with her BESIDES pulling out.
I've missed you!!!!
Sounds like she wants to get knocked up.
you should know to google instead of asking laymen
Do NOT fuck this girl without a condom.
.... and don't get too attached either, because shes clearly a fucking moron.
new? its 50 years old.
yes tell her to snort a big fatty line of cancer
bitch is nuts
What's your point? They come out with new forms or oral bc at least once a year. They don't even use the same formulas they did 50 years ago.
ive heard that it can increase the chances of some types of cancer and decrease the chances of others. which those were, i dont remember
your girl just has to weigh out the pros and cons. i dont like putting the hormones in my body every day, every month, every year, but i very much like NOT being pregnant and having a child right now, so its worth the risk to me.
the pull out method is not the answer, and i would be warely of this chick if thats all she will agree to do. i know a guy who's woman had 5 abortions and has 3 children using no birth control cause she didnt want to. you dont want to be in that place
