CAR Does touch up paint work?

Straight from manufacturer? Will it look nearly the same or same? There is a circular small 2-3mm deep nick on the hood of the new car.

even just doing a little dab barely larger than a pen tip? maybe it just wont look smooth

had very good results from the t/u in a bottle with the pen type ink head. Bought them from advance auto, great success

If the color is metallic, it never looks perfect.
