Whats the downside to buying a Glock 34 9x19 as my first handgun?
why do you need a practical tactical for?
you'll end up wanting to start packing it, and find out it's a tad bigger than you need it to be.
imo, larger > smaller
I live in MD... so can't pack it
Unless someone threatens me
care to elaborate?
it looks funky in my opinion. but if you're just going to use it for target practice/home defense then there is nothing wrong with it. You may be interested in the G17 though. It's been proven and is very reliable and is 9mm (which I assume you want).
correct... target practice/home defense... won't be carrying it
I have no illusions of being a leet sniper ninja hitman
great choice one of my favorite glock
Get the one with the flashlight.... then when teh burglar ninja's come to get you man... you will be ready for them.
I still think you should the 17, just cuz it looks nostalgic.
If you're not planning to carry it, there is no downside at all, besides that you'll want to shoot it a lot.
ITs not a Springfield XD
it's not a springfield XD
Springfield XD > your avatar
too bad that's about all it's greater than
but exploding is half the fun...

so does hk http://www.thegunzone.com/glock/hk-kb.html
and 1911 http://www.thegunzone.com/1911a1-kb.html
anyway check out this glock thread on arfcom.
I've shot a lot of glocks, and other than the fact that it's a bit large for CCW the 34 is perfect.
