@Dusty Busterson us like your dickhead friend that drives drunk all the time. The next day, you talk about it, and he says he fucked up and feels really bad. And he’s going to quit drinking and driving because it could ruin his life, or someone else’s. And he thanks all his friends for looking out for him and giving good suggestions on how to do better.

Then the next weekend:

Wife is hoping to get an actual second job in the mornings at Starbucks with an interview tomorrow morning. Pays $15/hr @ 20 hrs a week. Money will mostly be going towards paying down the Chevy to be able to get positive equity out of it and just sell it back to Carvana and be done with it.

That will put us at $97k a year before taxes combined or about $75k take home. $45k of that is going towards these damn cars.

Y’all are right, we’d be able to comfortably afford a special day out without having bought the Chevy Equinox. And if we can actually stick to saving money.

Stick to saving money? You just spent 40% of your life savings on a day trip. And continue excusing it for every dumb reason in the world. Your life won't change until YOU decide to stop being a selfish asshole. All the jobs in the world won't help your situation until you decide to help yourself.

I don't know, this seems like a good angle. Have your wife get a second job, spend all the money on car museums and pot, then blame everything on her (2nd car, student loans, etc). Oh and be mad at boomers and the government for your kid not having a chance at paying for college
