Have a site and just want to make something basic, any help?
i want a cool site
My site was made in iWeb. I haven't finished it yet:
very nice. i was contemplating which app to use for my next project and was a little unsure of iweb but you just sold me. plain white template FTW
the only problem with iweb is that the webpage loads so damn slow
i did www.atlsupras.com with iweb
Yea, you have to really be careful on how you build it. Just adding something like a drop shadow or reflection to something on the page will change the entire way it's programmed by iWeb.
I find it best if you size all the pictures to exactly the size you want to use before bringing them into iWeb. If you let iWeb resize and crop the raw images it creates a bigger, slower site because it's using a lot of scripting and still keeps the full sized image on the page despite what you see.
See, you used an unconventional font so iWeb just made it one big image. Stuff like that slows it down.
Is their a free trial I can try it out?
BTW anyone wanna go in on ilife family pack? You can install it onto 5 macs and its only $99 instead of $79. Get 5 peeps and thats $20 each...
^ wait for iLife 07 and I'm in.
anyone have a copy of iweb I can try? They don't offer any kind of demo.
I just bought a MacBook and it isn't on it...
iWeb comes pre-installed on MacBooks. Either it's been deleted, or it's not the default install.
when i have time this summer im making a website.
i need a cool concept or else it will just be a glorified myspace/ facebook
Made that on iweb.
If you get iweb, be sure to get "Easy Iweb Publisher", you set it up to point at your ftp for your site and then you just drop the folder that iWeb makes and it will upload/update your webpage.
Five shareware alternatives to iWeb:
I would probably go for this one:
