Error checking

    last night, i decided to check for errors, and turns out, there were alot, is there a log somewhere on my machine that i could check out what was bad and stuff.

    also, are bad clusters perminent? should I replace my hard drive?

    ps, this is a laptop im talking about.

    What did you use to check for errors? Windows based error checking?
    Bad clusters are not good. Back your stuff up asap. Go to the manufacturer's website and run a diagnostics program on it to see if it's about to go.

    i uses the windows one, i am looking at replacing the hard drive soon anyway, its been running slow, takes an hour and a half to unzip a 4 gig file :eek3:
    i dont remember it ever being that slow.
