factory speakers vs. high-watt car stereo unit

  1. I have a Clarion ARX-4670 deck installed in my Corolla, which is a 45-watt unit. However the speakers came with the car (stock) when my stock deck's FM didn't work. Can a high-watt unit REALLY do damage to the factory speakers? I'm planning to replace them with OEM aftermarket replacements.

All of the speakers operate loud & clear, it's just the two front ones deliver a very-low and nearly distorted sound when I adjust the fader control to the front.

as long as your not pumping tons of distortion through them your fine. If they start to bottom out or make weird noises turn it down. Your Clarion deck puts out around 22 watts RMS and NO MORE clean power than that. The clarion deck can put out more power but the distortion levels are so high its poopy :)

So the answer is just be careful with it and youll be fine
