Got the 60GB edition with the four USB ports and hardware-based backwards compatibility (emulation), FTW! :coold:

Paid $400 for the following:
  • PS3 60GB
  • 2 Synaxis Wireless Controllers & Recharge Cable
  • HDMI Cable
  • Power Cable
  • Madden '07
  • Carrying Case
Here are the games I'm definitely considering buying or at least renting (for now):
  • Pure
  • Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
  • Motorstorm: Pacific Rim
  • Pro Evolution Soccer 2009
  • BioShock
  • CoD 4
  • CoD: World at War
  • Rock Band 2
  • Assassin's Creed
  • Heavenly Sword
  • GTA IV
Do y'all have any advice for a new PS3 owner?

Can I have this thing insured having not purchased it from a Sony store?

What about modding?

get a dual shock controller and those list of games will tide you over nicely. mgs 4 should be given a try for sure
What's the difference between a Dual Shock and the Synaxis wireless controllers?

Vibration?

Where did you get a 60 GB PS3? I can't find them anywhere here in southwest OH for that kind of price.

Rumble has sixaxis as well I thought. :dunno:

It does...

Anyway you should get Dead Space too if you don't already have it on the 360. Also you should do what I did and take out the 60GB HDD and swap it with a 320GB one =) Also partition it for the "other OS" and find a linux OS to put on there. I used to like PSUbuntu but a lot of the updates of the PS3 would screw with it so I'm looking for other OS's

 Hope your Blu Ray drive doesn't fail, make sure to keep your receipt just in case. (its not near as bad as RRoD but it happens)

friend told me BDs failure rate is about .3% in ps3s while the new 360s have about 15% to RRoD. don't quote me on this, this is just hear say
