What a fantastic movie! I know they are making a US version, but I doubt they can top the original.
slow down with the details bro.
not your typical vampire movie, exc.....
already sounds gay. i'll pass.
It's a fucked up love story masqerading as horror. The book's even better if you're not afraid of reading.
Yeah, it's pretty gay. On IMDb's top 250 list, has an 82 on metacritic and a 97 on Rotten Tomatoes. Yeah, Zero, you'll hate it...
But sarcasm aside, I had to order the Blu-ray from the UK because it has the theatrical subtitles which are better than the US release.
I'm keeping my eye on the remake out of curiousity, but I'm definitely not getting my hopes up. However, two good things about the remake: 1. the boy from The Road plays Oscar (changed to "Owen") and 2. Richard Jenkins as Eli's (now "Abby") guardian.
mr elitist knowitall prick. you've already proven to me your taste in cinema is shit.
That's why you like a lot of movies that I like as well, right?
But just for fun, I'm gonna talk about how much I looooooove Let The Right One In just so you'll purposely avoid a great film. Because you're so shallow just to be contrary to me. You better go back and decide that you also hated 500 Days of Summer, Up In The Air, Lake Mungo, Black Dynamite...
oh shit. that must mean that every dvd on my shelf is on yours! because you... like a couple of movies that i like and then a whole bunch of shit that's just plain garbage. k.
Lost my interest to watch this.. Don't like it anymore
Just so you know, the official name of this movie, as it was released is Låt den rätte komma in, and I was lucky enough to be at the Premier for it in Norway, this was a few years back, and to be honest with you, I didn't enjoy the first viewing, but didn't think it was bad either, but after the second and third viewings, I absolutely fell in love with this movie. It's just awesome on a lot of levels. Can't wait for the remake in english.
I cant wait till you get the early cut that comes in a brown paper bag with "Do not open till Xmas" on it.
wow. you lie like i've rarely seen on the internet.
It's not my favorite vampire type of movie but the atmosphere in the movie has a cold and desolate/loneliness feel to the movie. It's basically about an awkward kid that doesn't fit in at school and gets bullied, who meets a vampire child that moves in next door and falls in love. I don't want to spoil anymore just in case you ever do watch it.
meh. vampire movies don't do it for me. they're boring and i don't really find them to be entertaining.
gotcha. it's all cool.
If anything, you have it backwards since there are really only two movies that were mentioned that I like but you hate: Irreversible and Ichi The Killer. And I actually have no problem if you hate those movies. The problem is how you view people who like them. Not everyone who likes those movies just likes them for the graphic scenes.
Most of the movies that you've mentioned on this forum that you like, I agree. And the ones you mention that you didn't like so much, I tend to agree as well. I am far from being your arch nemesis in movie taste.
I liked the film, but the book is a lot better.
I'm not big into vampires either. I think they've been gayed up too much in the last 20 years, between Anne Rice and this Twilight gayfest, vampires are a bunch of sensual, seductive, homo-erotic, blood sucking sissies.
you're far from my arch nemesis in any thing.
Let The Right One In is nothing like "this."
Why pre-judge it? Give it a shot. You might be surprised.
P.S. It is also nothing like Ichi The Killer or Irreversible.
k. i'll just take your word for it that it's worth my time.

It was slow as hell, I enjoyed the ending, the rest was like watching a car rust.
