I hope he recovers.
damn. thats really sad.
hope he has a full and speedy recovery.
i'm not sure about your reference to McRae is though.
McRae won't be in WRC in 2004, nor will Burns. Trouble with comprehension?
I wonder who will take his place. I am ready, and waiting by the phone
Colin McRae, one of the best drivers in the WRC is basically out of a seat for next year because there were none available on top teams (Ford, Subaru, Citroen, Peugeot)
It was looking like McRae was going to spend the season off from the WRC to do Rally Raids (Paris-Dakar) and some people mentioned of him doing some sportscar and touring car racing.
I know I had made a bunch of colorful comments about him before the Rally GB cause I said he probably chickened out of it so he could blame his loss of the drivers championship on something else.
Get better Richy.
I can pretty much guarantee you Colin will get the nod for Burns' seat now. Subaru will need another top notch driver opposite of Petter Solberg, and McRae is really the only other top driver out there thats available.
How's that foot of yours taste?
Not too good actually. I kinda feel bad for what I said because its something of this seriousness.
can subaru field him due to the 2 podium winners rules though?
I haven't been following wrc all year.
Skoda has a chance!
That's too bad for Boo-urns. Hopefully he'll make a full recovery.
Wow, that really sucks It would be nice to see McRae behind the wheel of an Impreza though...
That was from the older rules where teams were allowed to have 3 drivers. The 3rd driver though had to have not scored a podium finish in 3 years.
Now the FiA scrapped that and went to a 2 driver rule with no restrictions, like how it was a few years ago. So McRae could go to Subaru since Burns wont be able to participate next year. Subaru will be running two cars all season and right now they're only available driver is Solberg since Makinen just retired.
Damn a tumah, that really sucks.
Not my problem is it?
That sucks. Hopefully McRae gets back in it again.
what about Nicky Grist? has he found a ride for next year, or will he just sit on the side and talk shit again next season?
With the $ he's making for commentating and not risking his life anymore, I think he's more than content to talk up the rallies instead of co-driving them.
Someone else I'd like to see take the seat at Subaru, Freddy Loix. Course that depends on what Peugeot does with Rovenpera and Loix. But I think the Belgian Waffle would do good with a good car under him.
Why not have McRae replace Burns?
Well, I'm guessing this is whats gonna happen, Colin takes Burns' seat.
Course its not that simple. Colin was looking forward to doing some non-WRC stuff like the Paris-Dakar rally and some road racing events (24 Le Mans, touring cars, etc)
*cough* Nascar *cough*
