I was down a total of 4 pounds as of Wednesday, but up 1.6 from that low as of yesterday. Ugh. Still proceeding through my running program, which consisted of goal pace repeats last night. Did a total of 5k last night, I was beat and had a slower time than I was doing regularly last fall. I have until the beginning of May to improve my time, so I'll keep with this program for a while yet.
However, disappointed with the weight-loss aspect of it. I had penciled in 1 lb/week losses as goals on my calendar, and it looks like I will miss the next milestone. Ugh. Speaking of the 1200 calorie/day. I may need to go back to that.
I would consider not weighing every day if it's at all not motivating. I always found it discouraging in my 80lb weightloss. My weight could shift as much as 5 pounds depending on the day. I would weigh only after a few weeks or even months of doing what I knew were the right steps and seeing the larger changes was much more motivating than thinking about that number every day. I also used my clothes fitting better as a measurement more than weight anyway. You got this.

Thanks. I hear that from various people. I'm someone for whom it helps to weigh more often, always first thing in the morning wearing the same sort of thing. The more immediate feedback helps to keep me inline. I get more upset if go a week and my weight isn't where I like or expect. This way, I can think back about what I did / what I ate and figure out my missteps and the effects of different foods on me. In this case, I had a lean cuisine late at night, which likely had a bunch of sodium. I also had a salad with too much French dressing, which is the worst and I should know better than that.

Once a week, in the morning, naked, after waking up and using the restroom. Do something for two weeks and track. If things aren’t moving the right way, reassess your current plan and make some modifications and repeat.

Feeling amazing after 3 weeks dieting, no alcohol and tons of exercise. Why didn’t anyone ever mention that this was a good idea

My weekly check in. Had to travel overnight for work which really threw me off. Add in all the bullshit going on there I've had a hard time getting motivated. Hopefully I can find some motivation this week as after this week I have a bunch of overtime events I signed up for at work and then traveling for my sons surgery.

Yeah, I should mention that Garmin isn't the most accurate. It has me at 11 hours of sleep last night as I laid in bed watching Peaky Blinders because I couldn't fall asleep. Also it didn't count my steps Saturday when applying fertilizer in the yard, but yet when I was rubbing my wifes back it went off saying I hit my step goal for the day, and when I use the treadmill the miles are off between watch and treadmill. For some reason it also doesn't update calories from MyFitnessPal until the next day. I know a lot of people have issues with it counting reps when weight lifting, so I use it just to keep track of what set i'm on and rest time. Tried looking into different apps to keep track of weight lifting but in the end I'm too cheap. Hopefully the postings will help motivate some of the people.

Got some trail running shoes and did a trail 5K today. Trails are still complete ice rinks around here so I couldn't get a very good time, but it was a decent workout.

Not sure how I feel about my new shoes yet. I have comically fucked up feet, so it's almost impossible to find trail running shoes in my size locally (13 EE), and I've played the whole "buy a bunch of shoes online, return the ones you don't like" game before, but it's pretty obnoxious since like 90% of shoes don't work for me even if they are my size on paper.

I got the Altra Lone Peaks and length/width-wise they are about as good as it gets, but I don't know how much I like the zero-drop construction, especially as someone who typically wears support shoes (my Brooks Adrenalines have a 12mm drop). These Altras feel VASTLY different and I'm worried that I'll do something stupid as a zero-drop newbie, like roll an ankle or fuck up my Achilles tendon, or something. Also I'm not sure if zero-drop shoes are good for fat fucks like myself.

I wish they came in something other than zero-drop because I love how roomy they feel in the toe box, something I almost never get with any pair of shoes.

i'm doing their Split Phase right now. In the second part. I've been enjoying it, let me know how you like the anabolic. I was thinking of trying that after this one.
took a little longer than id like, but doing this at home means a lot of time setting up weights. Ill stick it out and see how it goes. Feels weird not doing 9-12 sets per body part.

I tried squatting today. It wasn't pretty. Knees cracking and popping like whoa. Switched to the vertical leg press instead :hs:
I tried incline bench the other day. SUPER light. The noises and feeling coming from my shoulders was like walking on glass

Weird too because I don’t feel any of that surfing

What’s your elbow position like while doing incline?
Not sure. Same as it used to be, I think, and never had this level of crunch.

I want to say 45 degrees maybe? I’ll have to check this week

Standing military w dumbells has a deeper crunch if the elbows are straight out to the sides. Even with 10lbs

hop on the stairmaster and really throw the ol' hips around. warms those legs up nicely and evens out the load on your knees when you squat.
also grab a kettlebell and do some goblet squats to warm up.
i had the same issue when i started squatting again and those two things solved the issue.

Not sure if anyone else has a Peloton but even without it, the Peloton workout app is very good. Been adding a bunch of weight and yoga classes.

I did F45 for a long time and this is definitely a comparable experience but far more convenient at home
