Down 1.8 lbs from last week. I'm still behind on the pace I wanted to lose, but OK with this measurement. This last week was busy, and this coming week is looking even worse, so whatever I can do is better than nothing.
Exercise update: last Monday kettlebells, Tuesday 2.8 mile run, Wednesday yogalates,
Thursday too damn busy, Friday had tickets for the local symphony and didn't want to get sweaty between work and the show, Saturday I was also busy but able to fit in 4.4 mile run, Sunday recovery and cleaning out basement. This Monday, kettlebells again.

Ran another 5 miles yesterday, and cut my previous time down by a minute (felt faster than that, but hey, I'll still take it). It's still weird to me that I don't absolutely hate running now. I just need to keep cutting weight because I want to run more, but I'm still quite heavy so it's hell on my joints and the next day I pay, even when I am really careful about form and such.

I remember when I was proud to have run a 1/4 mile without stopping, and for those who are still at the very beginning you should be proud of every single milestone, no matter how small! If I can do this shit then anyone can, trust me! It doesn't matter what your pace is, as long as you get out there.

I subbed for my friend's indoor soccer team a couple nights ago. It felt good to sprint for the first time in years, but it was a very humbling experience to burn out after only a few minutes of running.

Down to 151 today … from 170 in January. Maybe I should have signed up lol

Day 53 of 75 Hard. Probably 10 lbs of stomach fat left, seem to have mostly thinned out elsewhere, but definitely need more muscle too. Been going hard on macros, protein, and weightlifting 3x a week

I highly, highly recommend 75 Hard for anyone who’s serious about making a change but hasn’t had luck with other programs. The problem for me was always that I’d work out hard for 1-2 weeks then reward my “hard work” and fall off / lose interest. Staying sober and committing to the diet on a daily basis for 75 straight days has built habits that I just don’t think I would have otherwise.

Wow. That’s an awesome improvement - what are you doing to get there?

Thanks! I can tell you exactly! (I log everything in Strava).

My first activity (a super short bike ride) was logged on 11/19/2022. November was a pretty weak month since I only did three activities, but in any case, since then I've done:

409.1 miles of outdoor cycling
81.7 miles of running
34.2 miles of hiking

As far as dieting goes, it's just portion control and rarely eating junk. I basically do a "cheat meal" (rather than a cheat day) maybe once every 7-10 days or so.

Still have that miserable taste in my mouth. My dermatologist said it usually goes away after 5-6 weeks. Been 8 weeks now. Mostly having protein shakes, Eggos were tolerable today, but that's pretty much anything I can actually eat. Doesn't really taste good, just not bad enough I can't eat it. :sad2:

I've been taking extra B12 and Biotin, supposedly that helps. Down 46 lb now but won't weigh again until tomorrow.

Went to the gym twice this week, was going to go today but I have a cold. So the wife and I walked when she got home from work.

Well just make sure you don't loose too much weight. can you take some protein shakes ?

12hr shifts + 90min workouts = really cutting into my drinking time. Got done working out at 8:30pm last night and had to be back at work at 6am... so, two mixed drinks and off to bed. So, I suppose that's a good side effect :hs:

Might be a good thread to ask this.

Was a team sports/martial arts guy up until my mid 20’s. Resting heart rate was always mid 40’s.

Now at 35 I’m at 55-60.

Anyone successfully lower their resting HR by 10+ bpm?

If so how, and how long did it take?
Dude...high 50s is an amazing number at 35...

As you age, your RMR will go up, its inevitable.

Weekly update: weight-same as last week. Between my 2 kids, I had 4 days of soccer and 1 bowling league. I fit as much exercise as I could in there, but I'm old and tired. I also ate/drank a little too much bad stuff, but also had more salads than normal.

Monday: kettlebells, Tuesday: shorter run, Wednesday: busy, but lifted some dumbbells and did some stretching, Thursday: insane schedule, Friday: another soccer game, and I was just tired later, Saturday: longer run then went like shit, Sunday: shorter run that went better.

Somehow I have messed up my back ... my spine is killing me and my lower back muscles are so tight. I have an appointment with that specialist this next week so I'll see if this has anything to do with what's going on.

I've been doing yoga and stretches every day now, but my muscles are TIGHT. Thinking I might get a foam roller and see if that helps any. If you guys have any suggestions I'm all ears
